CWS's JYOTI Vocational Training Centre was delighted to welcome Kate Miller-Heidke, an Australian singer-songwriter to visit in September. Kate was headlining a tour organised by MTV EXIT's ‘End Trafficking' Campaign, supported by USAID.
After playing in Kathmandu, the tour moved to Pokhara, where Kate Miller-Heidke and local artists rocked the audience of 10,000 people while local anti-trafficking organisations and volunteers, including CWS, were providing important information to the crowd. Kate also visited JYOTI Vocational Training centre, danced with the trainees, sang a song, and had an interview with a victim of trafficking. She wanted to learn more about the issues, and to interact with young people who have been affected by this crime.
