Find out about the origins of CWS and our mission to help children build a brighter future...
At 5 o'clock on the 27th of May Tamara Hinton and Angela Landers, triumphant at the finish line of one of the world's toughest marathons in the Namib Desert. They spent eight hours in the world's oldest desert, weighed down by their own water supply, negotiating the rugged 26 mile course reaching 40+ degrees. They have managed to raise a total of £6,000 in support of our projects in Nepal.
It is all the more extraordinary when you consider that the two Americans have never visited Nepal. In an interview with Washington newspaper The Hill, Angela explained that she had become interested in supporting Nepal after a friend brought back pictures and stories of extreme poverty and people in need. "These children in Nepal are living in desperate conditions", Tamara stated, "even when the U.S. is not in a recession."
For those interested in taking part in their own extreme challenge, more information can be found by clicking here.
