Let's Party with Nepal! 

The Dashain celebrations are now over for 2009 but if you would like to join in the celebrations in Autumn 2010 please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Every year in Nepal, the Dashain Festival causes huge excitement throughout the country, with friends and families gathering to take part in the festivities. It is a Hindu Festival symbolising the victory of the Gods over the wicked Demons, and lasts for 2 weeks with different festivities. 

This year, we would like you to join in the celebrations and help us support disadvantaged children in Nepal, by holding your own Dashain Party.

This is your chance to experience the spirit of Dashain, which places great importance on family gatherings, renewal of community ties; it is about forgiveness, kindness, hope and blessings.

Children in Nepal will be celebrating Dashain between 19th September and 3rd October 2009, and we would love to have hundreds of events and hundreds of people across the UK involved in a huge CWS Dashain Party at the same time!

• If 10 people held a party and raised £150 each, this could help us treat patients and save lives by buying enough medicines for our mobile clinic to last a whole year.
• If 50 people held a party and raised £100 each, this could enable us to provide a safe and warm night shelter to street children for a year.

How will we support you?

We will give you lots of ideas, information and materials to make organising your party as easy and fun as possible! Our "Party with Nepal" Fundraising Pack will give you advice on planning your event, and encouraging people to come along. To bring a taste of Nepal to the party, we have ideas on what to cook, how to decorate your venue, and how to entertain your guests, and we'll provide you with a CWS film and Nepal quiz you can use.  

We'll also give you ideas to help raise as much as possible from your party, while making sure that your guests have a great time. We hope that having heard the difference CWS makes to children's lives in Nepal, this will be the easy bit!

Having hosted her own Nepalese party to raise funds for CWS last year, Anna will be at the end of the phone to offer any additional support she can with your event. If you're looking for more inspiration, below are some photos of her party, which raised over £800 in one night!
