Volunteer in Nepal
Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering for CWS in Nepal.
CWS is an organisation which aims to support Nepal and help Nepalese people become more independent, so we generally try to use local staff and volunteers wherever possible. These are people who know the local culture and language, and understand the needs of our beneficiaries well. The skills and knowledge they gain with CWS will remain in the country, and continue to support Nepal's progress in the long term.
Occasionally we are unable to find someone with the skills and experience we need in Nepal, and we therefore look to recruit overseas. However, these people are professionals who can offer a specialist skill to CWS. We also ask that the person commits for an absolute minimum of 3 months, and would prefer a commitment of at least 5 months, as this will enable them to make a really valuable contribution to our projects.
We have already arranged placements for several skilled individuals, which will take place throughout 2010, and are therefore very unlikely to recruit anyone else during this year. If however, you feel you have a specialist skill and are willing to volunteer for a minimum of three months, please send a CV and covering letter to us outlining your relevant skills and experience, and we will forward your details to our Human Resources manager in Nepal.
If you would like to make a difference to the children of Nepal you can do so in other ways too! You could:
- Become a volunteer fundraiser for CWS
- Take part in a UK or overseas challenge event
- Make a donation
- Spread the word about CWS to your friends and family
All of these will help us continue our vital work in Nepal. For more information about how you can get involved please click here.
