Plans for the future  

New Projects and Partners 

Our most exciting news, is that in 2008-2011 we will be supporting new projects and partners, to better meet the needs of the huge number of disadvantaged children and young people in Nepal. 

Through considerable research, we have identified a number of new partners.  All are in keeping with our own mission and vision, and work with children and young people supporting education, health care or social opportunities.  Through them, we will increase the number of children and communities that we help.  By widening our reach, we aim to help Nepal achieve the Millennium Development Goals and the Government's own development plans. 

All our new projects will be delivered by local Nepalese non-governmental organisations, and CWS will help them to deliver effective and efficient projects through funding and building their capacity.  We will provide training and mentoring, advice, and monitoring and evaluation services.

 

Strategic Plan: 2008-2011

Our Strategic plan for the next three years concentrates on 5 key objectives which will enable us to expand our services and continue to develop our organisation:

1. Building our own capacity in Nepal

We will build the capacity of Child Welfare Scheme to support other organisations in Nepal.  In particular, through the development and implementation of an internal capacity building plan, ensure CWS staff are sufficiently skilled and knowledgeable to be able to provide effective capacity building support to other organisations in Nepal.

2. Building capacity within our existing key partner

CWS will continue to support the work of Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN); our original and major partner organisation, but in particular to develop and implement a capacity building plan alongside CWSN that results in a measurably more effective, efficient and independent organisation by 2010.

3. Expanding our impact through new partnerships

We will expand our impact, in the mid-western region of Nepal initially, by working with 3 recent new partners and up to 10 other new partner organisations, building their capacity to deliver services to children and young people in the fields of primary healthcare, education, vocational training, child protection and social opportunities. 

4. Developing a solid foundation in the UK

We will develop the policies, procedures, strategies and systems necessary to underpin a rapidly growing organisation with distinct Opera

tional, Fundraising and Financial functions all working in unison.

5. Securing the funds required

We will secure the funds required to meet our operational expansion and organisational challenges and ensure full financial sustainability.
